This Plexidor Premium Pet doors are constructed of polycarbonate, with a saloon style side hinge design (size small has one swinging hard flap). An air chamber (approximately 1/8") helps insulate the flaps, creating good insulation retention. Weather stripping lines the perimeter of the flaps to eliminate any gaps that could allow air leakage. Strong springs keep tension on the hard flaps to keep the flaps closed. These springs loose tension over time, but can be replaced. The frame is constructed of heavy duty aluminum, and is available in satin silver, white or bronze.
The Plexidor is known to be one of the quietest pet doors available. These Plexidors (except size small) feature an aluminum screw-in locking plate to prevent complete animal access. For quick security, a key lock allows you to lock the pet door access (key included).
Note: When the door is locked using the key only, dogs may hit the panels hard when trying to use. There is no visual indicator to the pet that the door is locked unless the screw in security plate is attached..
